Aquaman Movie Review,Cast,Release Date,Story,and News

Warner Bros. has screened James Wan's Aquaman movie for early test audiences and the first reactions have begun to surface, indicating the DC Comics film is good - but not great. The studio launched their current DC franchise in 2013 with Zack Snyder's Man of Steel, introducing a new take on Superman. However, the cinematic world opened up immensely in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, which officially introduced Batman and Wonder Woman and offered glimpses of The Flash, Cyborg and Aquaman. Now, Arthur Curry aka. Aquaman (Jason Momoa) is getting his own solo movie when the eponymous film opens in theaters later this year.

Aquaman will be the first DC movie released by Warner Bros. since Justice League, and it joins a franchise that hasn't always performed well with critics or at the box office. While Man of Steel was successful enough, Batman V Superman and Suicide Squad both received mixed-to-negative reviews; Justice League received middling reviews, but wasn't the massive box office hit many were expecting. Wonder Woman is the only unequivocal hit of the series, but fans are looking to Aquaman to hopefully repeat the success of Patty Jenkins' DC film. Now, the first screening reactions to Aquaman have surfaced and they offer some insight into what fans can expect.

Release

Aquaman is scheduled to release in the UK on 14 December 2018, while the US gets it on 21 December 2018, with varying release dates elsewhere.

This is Aquaman's first solo film within the DC Extended Universe, following the character's appearances in Batman V Superman and Justice League. James Wan was hired as director in 2015, and the supporting cast (including Amber Heard, Willem Dafoe, Dolph Lundgren, and Patrick Wilson) signed on at various points in 2016 and 2017. Jason Momoa was announced as Arthur Curry back in 2014. Principal photography started in May 2017 and wrapped in October of that year. It's been confirmed the events of Aquaman take place after Justice League.

After everything the DC Extended Universe has been through in the last few years, it’s fair to say that great expectations for Aquaman were not exactly coming up to the surface. With the release of the latest trailer, a tsunami of enthusiasm has bubbled up. Not only do the undersea effects look absolutely awesome, but getting to see old Arthur Curry in action, facing off against classic villains while allying himself with familiar faces, has turned fan hopes from a minnow to a whale.

While Arthur Curry has many villains to contend with, there can be no question that the single most iconic foe to be found in his watery rogue’s gallery is the arch-villain known as Black Manta. This dude’s classic character design is the perfect mashup of futuristic scuba diver and undersea devil! There can be no question: this is one scary looking bad guy. His steel clam-shaped helmet with giant saucer eyes frightens on dry land as easily as in the unfathomable depths. And he is in the Aquaman film.
